What is 960H?
960H is the name given to a new Sony 570K pixel CCD image sensor chip set introduced by Sony. This new sensor and our 960H support DSP technology allows 960H security and DVR recorders supporting the new standard to record surveillance video with greater sensitivity and higher resolution than was previously available in analog security cameras and surveillance systems.

The 960H Advantage
The “H” in 960H represents the number of effective pixels in the horizontal direction of the 570K pixel CCD image sensor. The new 960H technology represent an increase in the number of pixels of nearly 30% compared to its predecessor 760H. This increased pixilation rendered by this new technology allows viewing of true HD resolution surveillance video from an analog security camera.

Horizontal Resolution & Over 750TVL
Horizontal resolution represents the level of detail in the horizontal direction of the video. A larger number indicates higher definition video. The unit is generally notes as TV lines or TVL. Advances in signal processing technology have enhanced horizontal resolution even for 760H. However, 960H increase the number of pixels of the 570K pixel CCD image sensor that corresponds to the “eye” of the camera, enabling to obtain more natural high-definition video. In addition, the signal processing technology used by the 570K CCD and our cutting edge DSP set realizes the high horizontal resolution of over 750TVL.

Output Format of the 960H Sony 570K Pixel CCD + new DSP
Analog composite video signals output from an Sony 570K Pixel CCD and our DSP camera system that uses a 960H CCD image sensor are also completely compatible with the NTSC and PAL signal standards.

960H Analog Security Cameras
While this technology has improved the image quality produced by the 960H security cameras, the benefits of the technology are not realized without an equally capable surveillance video recording device. Our new 960H series digital video recorders (DVR) support 750TV line (TVL) per 960H analog security camera. Now you can record your surveillance video in real-time at true new resolution with your analog security cameras!
